June 13, Kyiv – CSR Center with the support of Visa has conducted the National Contest of student videos about financial literacy. Student teams have presented their videos to the judges and defended their investment projects to receive a possible money prize from Visa.
Students fromOdessa Academy of Food Technology, Ternopil National Economic University and Kyiv National Linguistic University won the Contest; they presented their video dedicated to financial literacy, planning and cashless. They will receive money prizes from VISAin the amount ofUAH 3000, 6000 and 9000 to bring to life their personal investment ideas.
The group of professional judges consisted of representatives from Visa, KSE, NBU, NABU, USAID, Ministry of Education and Science.

Without this important aspect we can’t ensure appropriate cashless infrastructure and economic development, inasmuch its prosperity depends not only on technologies, but on the readiness of society to use the most convenient methods of payments and adopt innovations. Here in Ukraine we implement a number of initiatives in order to bust popular myths about cashless payments and to deliver educational information to different groups of society, and this is a part of Visa global efforts within the framework of financial literacy initiatives. This contest was aimed to share the basic knowledge about financial literacy among students, who are the future of our state and of our economic prosperity. These young people demonstrated their readiness to become financial literacy ambassadors and delivered the important information in such a creative way, so Visa is delighted to award these amazing winners of the contest”, – said Dmytro Krepak, Visa Regional Manager in Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia.
10 teams from around Ukraine were competing in the finals. These teams were selected via online voting on the Contest web-site. Each student team have made a creatively different video dedicated to one of the proposed topics among which there were budget planning, loan taking, cashless settlements and banking fraud. These videos will be used in future during classes at schools and universities where peers will be able to master these essential topics of financial literacy.

FinancialLiteracyContestisheldwithin the framework of CSR Center educational project known as “Financial and entrepreneurial literacy”. Within the project there will be created video tips on financial literacy and entrepreneurship from key opinion leaders (public officials, performing artists, “start-uppers” and top managers) in order to inspire students to study financial literacy and business growth. Besides, in order to promote entrepreneurship among the youth, it is planned to create a web-portal with the involvement of experts and mentors from key business spheres and establish creative hubs at two universities to teach students and exchange ideas.
